Service in Action: Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary and Dedham Health Partner for Community Clothing Drive

The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club recently joined forces with the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex (DHAC) to host a highly successful clothing drive, demonstrating the power of local partnership in action.

The event was spearheaded by DHAC owner and dedicated Rotarian Lloyd Gainsboro, who opened the doors of his facility to serve as the collection hub. This collaborative leadership provided the perfect platform for large-scale giving, resulting in carloads of high-quality clothing that will help meet the community's urgent needs as the seasons change.

The heart of the drive was its beneficiary: Annie’s Closet, located at Grace Episcopal Church in Norwood. Annie’s Closet operates on a mission of dignity, offering gently used clothing at no cost to individuals and families navigating difficult times.

By directing the drive's proceeds to this local resource, the Club ensured a direct local benefit, keeping the impact of these donations within our immediate community. Every item collected—from warm winter coats to professional attire—will go directly to neighbors in need, helping them maintain confidence and security during challenging times.

"Providing someone with a quality outfit at no cost can change their entire outlook," said Bob Blood, Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club President. "I’m proud that our club and the team at Dedham Health could facilitate this for the shoppers at Annie's Closet."

The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary extends a heartfelt thank you to all the donors and volunteers who made this possible. Your generosity ensures that Annie’s Closet remains a well-stocked and vital resource for the Neponset Valley.

If you missed the clothing drive but still have items to share, you can support Annie's Closet directly. They accept gently used, clean clothing for all ages to ensure that no neighbor has to go without essential attire. Visit www.anniesclosetnorwood.org for more information.
