The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club is a club consisting of dedicated individuals from the ten towns that comprise the Neponset River Valley area.
We are committed to improving the lives of people throughout the world and within our local communities.
We are working to raise the funds needed to support both local charities and the worldwide efforts of Rotary International.
People of Action
Our club offers opportunities for members -- and those interest in making a difference -- to get involved.
Through meetings, social events, and volunteer projects, our members learn about the issues facing our community and communities all over the world, partnering with local, national, and global experts to draw up action plans to respond. Along with these opportunities to serve, members also are able to regularly network, resulting in lifelong friendships and business connections.
Our club is a proud part of a global network of more than 1.2 million members who believe that great things happen when dedicated minds come together.
Some of our recent non-profit partners include: American Heart Association; Blue Hills Regional Technical School; Dedham Community House; Dedham Education Foundation; Dedham Food Pantry; Engineers Without Borders; Friends of Saint Nick; Neponset River Watershed Association; Jane Doe Inc.; Veterans Day Food Cards; Schultz' Guest House; Parkway Concert Orchestra; Pan-Mass Challenge; and Giving the Glam.
Making a Difference
Solving real problems takes real effort, commitment, and vision. Rotarians work to protect communities from preventable disease, keep women and children healthy, improve education and economic outcomes, create safe water and sanitation infrastructure, and make our community and the world a more peaceful place.
We are working with various partners on the following projects:
- Blue Hills Regional Technical High School Scholarships -- Awarding graduating students grants for purchasing tools for their careers or scholarships for higher education.
- Health initiatives -- Donations to Dedham and Norwood food pantries, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research.
- Clean Water: Tanzania -- To facilitate better health amongst youth, many of whom are too sick to attend school due to contaminated water supplies.
- Ending polio -- Partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the World Health Organization, and UNICEF to end polio, once and for all.
